The 2020 Global Good Fund Gala will be the evening of May 13, 2020 at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Virginia. The Gala is The Global Good Fund’s biggest celebration of the year, where we honor the global social impact of our eighth cohort of Fellows with 400+ community members from the Washington metro area. During cocktail hour, guests will have the opportunity to engage with The Global Good Fund Fellows through an interactive showcase of their social enterprise work. The seated dinner to follow includes fellow pitches, awards of honor, and musical performances, all enjoyed over a community-based dining experience.
This year, The Global Good Fund honors Arlan Hamilton, Founder and Managing Partner of Backstage Capital, a fund that is dedicated to minimizing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are people of color, women, and/or LGBT. Arlan has been recognized by Forbes’ 40 Under 40 and was named in 2019 by Business Insider as one of the most powerful LGBTQ+ people in tech.
Leading up to the 2020 Gala, The Global Good Fund will host a three-day Summit for our 2020 Fellows and alumni network from May 11-13, 2020 at Convene in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The Summit will feature strategy sessions between executive mentors and social entrepreneurs, workshops on vision planning, scaling and hiring, and networking opportunities for all attendees.
The Summit embraces and enables the social entrepreneurs’ leadership capacity to ensure their impact ripples into lasting global good. The Gala celebrates the impact entrepreneurship can have on the world.
