UPDATE // The Global Good Fund’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Efforts

Posted by globalgoodfund on Apr 27, 2020

During these challenging times, we recognize that the world needs innovation and leadership to support the most vulnerable people. That is why, in the face of this pandemic, we have been working hard to adapt our resources and double down on our mission to advance the world’s most impactful social entrepreneurs – whether they are tackling this current crisis or rebuilding for a more equitable world, ultimately ensuring that we are ready for what comes next. Read on to learn how we’re making progress on our three-pronged emergency response efforts.

Immediate deployment of capital

We’ve deployed $325,000 and counting to our community of entrepreneurs. First, we released $10,000 unrestricted grants to our current class of fellows – funds typically restricted for leadership development. Second, we created the Survive and Thrive fund to raise money to meet the urgent needs of our alumni. We’ve been able to issue $5,000 grants to 11 organizations across the globe that are keeping vulnerable people employed, fed, and sheltered.

We also launched our #surviveandthrive social media campaign to showcase how innovators are responding to COVID-19 in hopes to elevate their messaging through our global platform. We’d love to hear from the entrepreneurship community at large. Are you a young founder creating impact in the face of this global pandemic? Free Crisis Management Training

The Global Good Fund and Motley Fool Ventures have joined forces to create a crisis management webinar series designed for entrepreneurs, founders and small business leaders so that their enterprises are more resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sessions are led by industry experts, and focus on the framework for financial health, human resources, managing work and family, balancing wellness and health, leading a virtual team during a crisis, and crisis communications. Webinars are free and available to the public.

Survive and Thrive Virtual Event

While public health concerns make it impossible for us to host an in-person gala this year, we know how important it is to gather community, share progress and inspire each other. The vulnerabilities of our world are being exacerbated by this pandemic, but we must ensure that entrepreneurs survive today, so our world can thrive tomorrow. We’re thrilled to announce our “Survive and Thrive” virtual event on Thursday, May 13th at 5:30pm ET. Sip your favorite cocktail (or mocktail), see how entrepreneurs are stepping up during this pandemic, and support a future that includes impact-focused innovators rebuilding humanity. Register here: https://bit.ly/ggfsurviveandthrive2020
